SciFY held the 3rd event of the “Environment & Innovation” series on “Waste Management”, on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at 19:00, at INNOVATHENS of Technopolis City of Athens (100 Piraeus Street, Gazi). Representatives of WWF, Harokopio University, Save Your Hood, and the educational organization “DIMITRA” spoke about the challenges and innovative solutions in waste management.

Participation was free and open to all!
A Certificate of Attendance was given to those who desired it.

We discussed about:

• Green Innovation in Fashion: We explored new trends in the fashion industry that respect the environment and talked about street fashion.
• Waste Management: We discovered how technology, logic, and people contribute to sustainable waste management.
• Illegal Landfills: How can active citizens & Artificial Intelligence help?
• Food Waste: The challenges and prospects for the management of the issue.

Through this series of SciFY Academy initiatives (October 2023 – December 2023),SciFY aspired to create a platform for discussion bringing together representatives of IT, the environment, and citizens. The purpose was to be informed and inspired about ways to achieve a more sustainable future!

Our goal was to co-discover:

• how innovation can bring positive results,
• what’s the role of technology, and what are its limits,
• what the roles of man and society are.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about new technologies, practical tools, and ways to achieve sustainability.
