Artificial Intelligence & Educators

On Wednesday, January 16th, the 38th SciFY Academy on “Artificial Intelligence & Educators” took place online. Over 80 people watched the online event.

First, Mr. Paul Isaris, Senior Software Engineer & Science Communicator at SciFY, talked to us about the opportunities and challenges of teaching IT and Artificial Intelligence to children and teenagers, as well as the choice of tools that make the lessons creative.

Then, Dr. Athanasios Drigas, scientific manager of the Net Media Lab Mind – Brain R&D and Vice President of the DPMS Specialization in ICT and Special Education – Psychopedagogy of the Integration of the Department of Greek Philology of the Democritus University of Thrace and the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT), with his valuable experience gave us his thoughts, ideas, and actions on Artificial Intelligence in Education.

Finally, Dr. Dimitris Mastrogiannis provided a brief description/review of the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Greek Education System to date, and he discussed its potential applications in the context of Special Education. How can Artificial Intelligence begin to transform the educational landscape of special education, and what challenges may this bring for the future?
