On Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 19:00, SciFY held the 45th SciFY Academy at INNOVATHENS of Technopolis City of Athens (100 Piraeus Street, Gazi). It was the third event in the “Environment & Innovation” series, focusing on “Waste Management”. Representatives from WWF, Harokopio University, Save Your Hood, and the educational organization “DIMITRA” discussed the challenges and innovative solutions in waste management.

Participation was free and open to all!
A Certificate of Attendance was given to those who desired it.

Our goal was to co-discover:

• How innovation can bring positive results.
• What’s the role of technology, and what are its limits.
• What the roles of man and society are.

We discussed:

• Green Innovation in Fashion: We explored new trends in the fashion industry that respect the environment and talked about street fashion.
• Waste Management: We explored how technology, logic, and people collaborate to achieve sustainable waste management.
• Illegal Landfills: How can active citizens & Artificial Intelligence help?
• Food Waste: The challenges and prospects for the management of the issue.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about new technologies, practical tools, and methods for achieving sustainability.

Through this series of SciFY Academy initiatives (October 2023 – December 2023), SciFY aimed to create a platform for discussion, bringing together representatives from IT, the environment, and the general public. The purpose was to be informed and inspired about ways to achieve a more sustainable future!
