Two parallel Workshops, with the aim of having the first results by their end. When registering, the participants will select in which of the two workshops they wish to participate. See the two thematics descriptions below:
1st thematic Workshop “Strengthening Entrepreneurship with Artificial Intelligence”
Mr. Michalis Golias, IT Director of the Hellenic Development Bank, in his presentation, “Strengthening Entrepreneurship with Artificial Intelligence”, will describe:
- The Idea of entrepreneurship that we will deal with during the Workshop. It concerns the creation of a portal that helps young entrepreneurs make better investment and business decisions, providing valuable information the moment they need it.
- The Need is clear. Every day, young entrepreneurs design new business endeavors, trying to leverage whatever data is available. Unfortunately, all too often, while the data exists, it isn’t compiled and available in a usable way.
- By openly combining Open Data and Artificial Intelligence systems, our Goal is to create a platform where young entrepreneurs can ask their questions to make better business decisions. The service will be provided to all free of charge.
- In the Workshop that follows, we will plan together how such a portal should be shaped and what the role of artificial intelligence can be.
2η thematic Workshop “Participating in the World Competition of Artificial Intelligence for Students”
Mr. Andreas Karampelas, Researcher of AI-Lab, organizer of WAICY GREECE, and Dr. Georgios Vouros, Director of AI-Lab Department of Digital Systems University of Piraeus – Official Partner of WAICY, in the proposal “Participating in the World Competition of Artificial Intelligence for Students”, will talk to us about WAICY (World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth). WAICY is a global AI competition that encourages kids to use their knowledge of AI to create projects that solve real-world problems like climate change, human rights, global public health, etc. It is open to all students worldwide and is held once a year, either virtually or in person. They will also present us with:
- The Idea of entrepreneurship that we will deal with during the Workshop. It concerns the creation of a portal that helps young entrepreneurs make better investment and business decisions, providing valuable information the moment they need it.
- The Need is clear. Every day, young entrepreneurs design new business endeavors, trying to leverage whatever data is available. Unfortunately, all too often, while the data exists, it isn’t compiled and available in a usable way.

Workshop Structure: The Workshop will follow the following steps:
- Participants will be divided into 2 main working groups (Education and Entrepreneurship) according to the preferred topic of interest they selected upon registering.
- Each of these 2 working groups will be further divided into 3 sub-groups.
- Each sub-group will sit at a table where there will be an issue to analyze. They’ll study it for 15 minutes and record its main points on a Flip chart.
- After 15 minutes, the sub-groups will rotate, leaving behind a moderator to briefly explain to the next sub-group sitting at the table what was discussed by the previous sub-group. The newcomer subgroup will improve the approach that has already been made.
- This rotation will be done once more so that all sub-groups have gone through all three tables and discussed all the issues raised.
- At the end, the 2 main working groups will have ten minutes to prepare a mini-presentation with the main results of their work.
