We trained People with Disabilities in AI and supported them to work: What we learned

library > We trained People with Disabilities in AI and supported them to work: What we learned

Within the framework of the program “People with Disabilities Pioneers in Artificial Intelligence”, we trained people with autism and mental illnesses to work on “training” Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. Subsequently, the People with Disabilities (PWDs) undertook carrying out supported work in real conditions. That is, implementing a project in collaboration with a research team of the NCSR “Demokritos”.

Thus, a very innovative way of employing them in a rapidly developing sector was studied for the first time!

After hundreds of sessions, 4 months of training, 3 months of supported work, questionnaires to therapists, PWDs and parents, and much more… What did we learn?

A presentation useful to PWD support organizations and professionals, PWD caregivers, PWDs, companies, and research institutions that want to utilize AI.
