Within two cycles of the “People with Disabilities Pioneers in Artificial Intelligence” program, we trained people with autism, mental disorders, and motor disabilities to work on training Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. Subsequently, the People with Disabilities undertook supported work under real-world conditions. That is, implementing projects in collaboration with research teams of the NCSR “Demokritos” and the ATHENA Research Center.
Thus, a very innovative way of employing them in a rapidly developing sector was studied for the first time!
After hundreds of sessions, 6 months of training, 6 months of supported work, questionnaires to therapists, People with Disabilities, and parents, and much more… What did we learn?
