In the framework of the SciFY Academy initiative, SciFY and NCSR Demokritos, for the first half of 2022, focus on Artificial Intelligence and its influence in various areas of our daily lives. In February, we continue with the second online event on “Artificial Intelligence and Educators: The educational tool of the future and its challenges” on Wednesday, February 16th, at 18:00.

Speakers:

• Dr. Athanasios Drigas, scientific manager of the Net Media Lab Mind – Brain R&D and Vice President of the DPMS Specialization in ICT and Special Education – Psychopedagogy of the Integration of the Department of Greek Philology of the Democritus University of Thrace and the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT), with his valuable experience will give us his thoughts, ideas, and actions on Artificial Intelligence in Education.
• Dr. Dimitris Mastrogiannis will give us a brief description/review of the effect Artificial Intelligence has had on the Greek Education System so far and talk about how it can be extended in the context of Special Education. How can Artificial Intelligence begin to transform the educational landscape of special education, and what challenges may this bring for the future?
• Paul Isaris, Senior Software Engineer and Science Communicator at SciFY will introduce us to the topic by talking to us about the opportunities and challenges of teaching IT and Artificial Intelligence to children and teenagers, as well as the choice of tools that make the lesson creative.

Who it’s addressed to:

The event is aimed at formal and informal education professionals, special education professionals, technologists, technology and education researchers, as well as education and technology students. As always, the event is open to all interested in artificial intelligence, new technologies, and their effects on education.

SciFY Academy:

SciFY Academy is a series of educational activities open to all interested parties by the non-profit organization Science For You – SciFY for the free dissemination of knowledge. There are more than 10,000 beneficiaries already, and the actions are ongoing.
