AI transforms the future of Natural Sciences
SciFY, with the contribution of the Education Office of the country’s largest research center, NCSR “Demokritos”, prepares the next pioneers of Artificial Intelligence in the Natural Sciences.
- We created an online Artificial Intelligence (AI) course specifically designed for Science students, enriched with videos, exercises, and other educational elements.
- We trained 140+ Science students in AI for free. ( The Online Course remains open )
- We created Natural Science Challenges that are solved using AI, with the contribution of researchers from NCSR “Demokritos” Institutes.
- We supported 30+ graduates of the educational program to solve the above Challenges using the AI knowledge they acquired. Through a two-day Hackathon and with the help of “Demokritos” researchers, the graduates collaborated, networked, and developed skills to solve the Challenges.
- We organized a presentation of the results and connected the students with the “Demokritos” Research Institutes.

- Artificial Intelligence affects our lives, and its role is drastically increasing in science fields such as Natural Sciences.
- The changes brought about by AI in the Natural Sciences are so dramatic that students and young scientists must be aware of the developments, as well as of how to utilize them in their research and daily practice.
- We give Natural Sciences students the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and increase their employability.
- We promote the creation of new synergies between research institutes, universities, and students to strengthen research and innovation in Greece.
AI transforms the future of Natural Sciences
The project has already exceeded the goals we set when we designed it:
- 4 AI Courses (videos, presentations, tests, etc.) were created specifically for science students by AI Experts.
- 140+ students have completed their training and continue to be trained in AI.
- 30+ students from all over Greece participated in the Challenges phase, which took place in November 2024 at NCSR “Demokritos”.
- 5 Challenges were created by 4 Institutes of NCSR “Demokritos”:
