Google AdWords Workshop

On Wednesday, March 9th, SciFY organized the seminar ‘Google AdWords Workshop’ in partnership with the INNOVATHENS Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub of the Technopolis City of Athens.

More than 100 people watched Mr. Spyros Tzorgzisa graduate of the Department of Organization & Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business and a member of the Sociality Digital Communication Cooperative (KoinSEp), introduce them to the world of Google AdWords.

At the beginning of the event, the attendees watched 3 short videos on:

Then, Mr. Vassilis Salapatas, co-founder of SciFY, took the floor to inform us about SciFY’s actions in the field of Organizational Intelligence. He described Newsum, an application that summarizes news from multiple sources in multiple languages. PServer, an application for automatic service personalization, was also touched upon.

Additionally, we were informed about SciFY’s new projects that aim to contribute to companies’ digital marketing efforts.

Then, Mr. Spyros Tzorgzis introduced us to Digital Marketing and described concepts such as email marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Display Advertising.

He explained to us what Google AdWords is and the terminology used:

  • CPC: Cost Per Click
  • Quality Score
  • CPM: Cost per 1.000 views
  • CTR: Click-Through Rate Clicks / Impressions

Additionally, we were informed about how advertising is conducted on the internet, specifically through the Google Search Network and Google Display Network, and how the Quality Score impacts the results. See his presentation here.

A big thank you to Spyros Tzortzis, INNOVATHENS, and all our friends who attended and participated in the seminar, asking interesting questions and once again contributing to the realization of our vision for the free diffusion of knowledge!
